Step 5

Repeat Steps 2 and 3. Skip make a loop in Step 2.

Step 6

Repeat Step 4.

Step 7

Take D and start weaving down between the 2 straight lines as indicated by the white line.

Step 8

Under, over, under, over and under the line immediately to the left as shown in the photo.

Step 9

Turn the knot over, top away from your body and bottom toward the body. Continue weaving, over, under, over and under horizontal lines.

Step 10

Flatten the completed knot and pull loops away from center until a lattice pattern appears as shown in photo. Do not be concerned about the symmetry of the loops at this time.

Step 11

Use a jeweler's plier or your fingers to adjust loops until you achieve the desired design.

Now you are ready for the finishing touch, a connection knot (aka a Mathew Walker, a seamanship knot).

To make a necklace you can either attach
clasps or make a slider. See instruction on how to make a triple connection knot.

Use a pair of very sharp scissor and cut cord. Leave about 2mm or whatever the diameter of the cord you are using. Hold it very close to a flame (use either a cigarette lighter or light a candle). Do not come into contact with the flame. Singe the ends of the cord until it bubbles, wait one second, apply pressure to the melting cord with the metal part of cigarette lighter or use handle of a spoon if you use candle as source of flame. The melted cord acts as a glue agent. Make sure you apply this glue to the knot, and not to the cord on which you will slide in order to make adjustment to the length of necklace. You will need 2 yards of cord (2mm or 2.5mm in diameter) to make a necklace with a slider.
